Success stories: Kieran’s volunteering at our Peterborough gym
Kieran attended our gym to support his study programme at City College Peterborough and help him engage with work led opportunities.
Being at college was not the right environment for Kieran, he thrives and enjoys being in a fast-paced environment learning new things and challenging himself.
Kieran started volunteering at our Peterborough gym from mid-April for two days a week working alongside Richard (Gym Co-Ordinator). This experience has changed Kieran’s outlook on his next career steps.
Sally Elsom (Progress, Enterprise and Employment Coordinator at City College Peterborough) explains “Attending the gym and having a mentor has helped Kieran to gain more self-confidence, a better understanding and experience of customer service and above all else an opportunity to support his progression outside of education.
Richard has been an excellent mentor, providing support and guidance. Going above and beyond trying to help Kieran secure employment.
Being able to refer learners to complete volunteering at the gym is an excellent and meaningful resource.
Thank you for all your patience and support.”
We’re more than happy to help support young people and give them the opportunity to develop, gain experience and do something they enjoy. Thanks to Richard for his support and hard work!
