About Us

Our Health & Fitness programmes began over 30 years ago and we now operate from two sites in Cambridge and Peterborough. We have an inclusive ethos across all sites welcoming people from all backgrounds, abilities, disabilities and groups.

Our Work

Our work with disabled users has also grown and allowed us to develop exciting partnerships with wider local specialists. Our groups have included:

  • Peterborough Regional College (students with learning disabilities)
  • Kingfisher House
  • Peterborough Prison
  • Heltwate School
  • Headway and Special Olympics
  • Winter Comfort
  • Red Balloon
  • Aspire

We work with local physiotherapists who refer clients to our gyms who have conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Cardio Vascular disease, Stroke survivors, amputees etc. Lately, we have been supporting people with weight issues and/or health concerns and those with an unseen disability such as epilepsy, depression, stress and mental health.

30% of our users have disabilities or life-long conditions, and make up 75% of users on a daily basis. With the exception of the NHS, we are one of the few providers who currently offer gyms which are equipped to support this special population.

Our Vision and Values

YMCA Trinity Group is a Christian Charity that recognise that health and wellbeing is a contributing factor to people developing areas of their life, from education and employment to relationships and social networks.

We currently own two well-equipped gyms in Cambridge, & Peterborough, and are staffed by experienced and fully qualified instructors. We strive to appeal to all communities by offering very affordable prices.

Sessions and 1-2-1 support are provided for people with long-term conditions and disabilities, and we work closely with local GPs, NHS stroke teams, and community nurses who refer their patients to us.

Our values are based on that:

  • We believe everyone should enjoy the benefits of good health and wellbeing
  • We believe every person should be able to fulfil their potential
  • We believe everyone should have the support they need to develop and lead healthier lives
